The power flowers! 14ft blooms reaching for the record books
Rising by several inches a day, at least one of these mighty sunflowers could be heading for the record books.
They have shot up the redbrick wall of Claire and Dean Townshend's three-bedroom semi at such a rate that they are now climbing past the bedroom window.
The tallest specimen has grown more than 11ft since the end of June and yesterday stood at 14ft and one inch - and it hasn't even flowered yet.
